“The Leader In High-Quality, Low-Cost Forklift Repair”™️
Tomorrow, April 15th, is Tax Day! Cheers to making the most cost effective tax decisions for your small business.
🚨IMPORTANT INFO for Small Business Owners🚨
Sole Prop vs. LLC (Taxed as S-Corp):
Choosing between a sole proprietorship and an LLC taxed as an S-Corp can have a major impact on your taxes.
Here's how they compare:
1. Sole Proprietorship:
2. LLC Taxed as S-Corp:
Key Difference: The major difference is self-employment tax-you pay it on the full income in a sole prop, but only on your salary in an S-corp.
Estimated Tax Savings: $16,365
Takeaways:
There are other accounting variables and factors to take into consideration based on a small businesses structure but the results still remain the same. An S-corp can reduce taxes as your income grows. Salary must be "reasonable" for IRS defense. Sole props are simpler but can lead to higher taxes. Always Consult a tax professional for personalized tax advice.
By request from the Bossman, the website has taken on new upgrades for the Contact Form. Now, new customers can input their location and other necessary information without all the time consuming back and forth communication concerning quotes.
Information needed to generate a quote for BFR services:
• Name/Phone
• Location
• Equipment model # & serial #
• Engine make/ Gas or LP
• Parts
Side note: BFR tried to make email a non-requirement but unfortunately, the website host requires email for this layout.
Speaking of quotes, shoutout to Shelia from Miami, Florida for contacting BFR to schedule maintenance and repairs for her two Toyota forklifts as her design business is moving to Thomasville, NC. BFR contacted the customer to determine their budget for often expensive transmission replacement, called around and communicated all updates with customer, that took 4 business days to generate a satisfying quote. The BFR team is thrilled to be provided with an opportunity to show a Floridian how NC small businesses take care of business. Welcome to NC! BFR plans to take this opportunity and create something enduring out of it. It’s a blessing on how opportunities like this unfold. Out of all the forklift repair businesses in NC, BFR can be located all the way from Florida!
Also, to help out new small businesses, concerning quotes, BFR has always been complimented on the structure of its quotes. So, feel free use the template above to create your own. Be as specific as possible and do everything possible to abide by the given quote for positive customer satisfaction. That’s where BFR is different than its fellow competitors. 💯

BFR would like to take a moment to thank all of the customers who used the website contact/chat widget for services in March! Ten new customer online inquiries to schedule for services in 21 business days is an accomplishment for BFR. This doesn’t count the calls from the Google page or repeat customers so business satisfaction has been fulfilled and several of those services will continue in the month of April. 🥳
BFR’s favorite inquiry from the month of March was from Kyle. You can’t beat a customer that knows how to knock two birds out with one stone. BFR may be a forklift repair business but can literally work on anything with an engine! Most forklifts have a GM (Chevy), Mazda (Ford), Toyota, Nissan or Perkins engine so if one has the ability to repair forklifts, then they also have the ability to repair automobiles and anything with a small engine. Brad has experience repairing all of it from tons of automobiles to weed trimmers, Craftsman and Cub Cadet v-twin lawnmowers, portable generators, Sea Doo 900 jet skis, boats with Suzuki, Johnson and Mercury’s, building the coolest Yamaha and baddest 750/800 v-twin Kawasaki atvs/side x sides that would run with stock 1000’s to even owning a super bad stretched crotch rocket in his boyhood days. One can only thank God those days are over, with the decision to graduate to manhood in a safe cockpit concerning hobbies and obtaining a personal will to want to live.
Let’s highlight the differences between automotive/forklift engine repair and the over saturated market of small engine repair (it’s described as saturated as there’s 2 businesses within 5 miles of BFR’s residence plus many more).
Small engine repair focuses on servicing smaller, simpler engines found in equipment like lawnmowers, trimmers, and generators, while automotive (forklift) repair deals with the more complex engines found in cars and trucks, typically requiring more advanced diagnostics and repair techniques due to their size and complexity; essentially, small engine repair is generally considered less intricate and faster to complete compared to automotive (forklift) repair.
Key Differences:
Engine Size:
Small engines are significantly smaller with lower horsepower, while automotive (forklift) engines are larger and more powerful.
Equipment Serviced:
Small engine mechanics work on equipment like lawnmowers, snow blowers, chainsaws, and portable generators, whereas automotive (forklift) mechanics focus on car engines.
Complexity:
Small engines usually have simpler designs with fewer components, making repairs often more straightforward. Automotive (forklift) engines, on the other hand, have intricate systems with many parts, requiring more specialized knowledge and tools.
Repair Time:
Small engine repairs typically take less time to complete compared to repairs on a car (forklift) engine.
BFR is thrilled to have customers that can differentiate between boys and men. Bearing more responsibility is a sign of high emotional development and maturity. Men start to become a helping hand for customers, friends, family and even strangers, instead of a burden. Boys haven't suffered enough low points in life yet, so everything is just a party, which is an excuse to have fun at any cost, thinking they have nothing to lose so it's fine to take risks. Men have things to care about so taking risks isn't just about them anymore. Of course, one must take certain risks to grow in life but some risks are life threatening and not worth it. A good man who has a good woman and family at home will always value any opportunity to avoid serious life threatening risks. The same principles apply to girls/women and this information isn’t April Fool’s! 😂😉💯 On the other hand, Brad is good at April Fool’s jokes and traditionally gets the serious Mrs. BFR every year. This year, he leaves at 6 a.m. for a 2 hour away job in Indian Trail and pretends he’s broke down. 😂😂😂
The BFR crew is ready to rock the rest of the year after battling the “once a year” illness that started two Monday’s ago and wouldn‘t be wished on an enemy. This germ had Laryngitis (loss of voice) and conductive (muffled) hearing loss so customers don‘t be surprised if you see the BFR team hosing down forklifts with Lysol. 😂
This week started off on a positive note with completing forklift maintenance and a tire replacement at an Amazon return warehouse in Randleman. The BFR team is also resellers so partnering with these types of warehouses is a must! So far, BFR has acquired a handful of resell customers from Prospect Hill to Randleman and would like to partner with as many as possible. This type of partnership is beneficial in that BFR gets to work on forklifts and the business generates extra income through Mrs. BFR shopping the warehouse. This particular business has 2 locations, the other in Winston-Salem. Their business structure is unique in that they offer different deals for each day. For example, on Mondays everything is $14 each, Tuesday is $10, Wednesday is $3, Thursday is $1 and Friday is 50 cents. BFR completed service on a day where everything was $3 each, picked up a couple of lamps and one resold within 15 minutes of listing.
To be a reseller, one must utilize apps to check comps. While out it is possible to scan any item and see its comps before purchasing. It will show how many of that exact item have sold in the last 30 days and for how much so one can determine if the item is worth purchasing for resell purposes. This keeps inventory moving quickly.
If you own a resell warehouse with a forklift, please contact BFR today! You’ll be glad you did!
The deadline is growing near! All LLC’s must file their annual report by April 15th! The purpose of the North Carolina Secretary of State's Business Registry is to provide a central, searchable database for all business entities registered in North Carolina, ensuring transparency and facilitating the oversight of businesses operating within the state. This is also where small businesses are credited for their years of operation. This website gives all the facts to determine legitimate business names to proof of how long in business, things that an unethical business would be dishonest about can be brought to light using the SOS website. Taken into consideration that BFR used to be fashionably late with annual reports the first couple of years of business but give credit where credit is due, BFR was on time in 2024 and plans to file an early annual report in 2025. (BFR is getting a grasp of all the responsibilities now). It’s unfortunate that certain competitors do not take this deadline seriously and unacceptably file months late so look up your “favorite” forklift repair company to ensure they’re legitimate today!
