Shoutout to Chris from what used to be Shamrock Corporation in Greensboro but now is officially permanently closed for business. The BFR team hopes for nothing but the best in future endeavors. Glad BFR could help ease the burden by participating in the auctioning of all assets that was awarded to the highest bidder. BFR not only had the highest bid for this forklift but also took home a high quality step ladder, several nice new office chairs for the whole BFR crew for the office desk and the kid’s lofted beds with desks underneath plus other items. That’s the least the BFR team could do for their dedicated support. Thanks for always choosing BFR for your forklift repair services!
BFR is continuing the March monthly theme of the importance of quality service!

Key points about the importance of quality work:
Quality forklift repair is crucial for ensuring safe operation, maximizing productivity, extending the lifespan of the equipment, and minimizing downtime by preventing unexpected breakdowns, all of which stem from the fact that a properly maintained forklift is less likely to malfunction and cause accidents or disruptions to your business operations; using qualified technicians and high-quality parts is key to achieving this level of reliability.

The BFR team has officially taken the hot rod truck to the track on 3/1 for a test and tune (TNT) session at Farmington Dragway! This 1/8th mile drag strip has undergone some major improvements and provided one heck of a time! The event lasted from 11-4 so time flew by as everyone was having fun! The hot rod truck found out real quick that there are plenty of street hot rods to compete with running the same time. There were no bragging rights as this was only a TNT event. The OnDGas hot rod truck was ready to go! With more seat time, reaction time improvements will occur and we’ll start seeing at least two zeros in that area.
There are no negatives concerning Farmington Dragway.
All of the positives:
✅ Cost: $10 per person/vehicle vs $20 per person/vehicle @ Piedmont
✅ Facility layout = bada$$ hands down! From the new set up by the tower with standing room right by the burn out box and take off point about 20 ft away from the action… (holy cow what an ear piercing, adrenaline pumping experience!) to the structure of the stands to the cool fenced in area right near the score boards, every spot there was to possibly watch the action at was a good one.
Off to the next small business supporting event! ✌️
It‘s the end of another month and this score has unexpectedly went up 3 points for being the “top-performing site” for BFR’s web hosting company! Either, using a magnitude of new keywords within our blogs is working (since we have been super busy) or the scammers simply will not go away. We will never be able to tell. Either way, we tried to take out the trash since we prefer realistic website analysis.
ATTENTION SCAMMERS: BFR does NOT need help building our website nor are we interested in partnering with you to sell Chinese knock-off forklifts or other equipment so don’t waste your time with inquiries. You will simply be ignored. Thanks!
Sincerely,
The BFR team
Hot diggity dog! It’s officially time for drag racing!
The BFR team and family went to Piedmont Dragway on 2/25 for the Drive By Tuesday event. The entertainment from all the action was on fire! 🔥 This is the home to the “Baddest Street Cars In The Land” and they did not disappoint. Witnessed a near nitrous explosion to 5 ft flames shooting out the end of tailpipes to the baddest built Suzuki GSXR on the planet doing a 3 ft wheelie, holding on like riding a bull and brought it back down with sparks flying and kept on getting it. Then, seen the famous Petey Pablo Carolina blue Nova in real life and watched him spank some tail. Also, had the pleasure of witnessing an upstanding individual race a green Hellcat that was in a wheelchair with just one leg and did EVERYTHING BY HIMSELF from unloading, racing to packing everything back up. That feat is simply remarkable. Such an incredible inspiration for the younger generation to never give up on your life dreams. The most amazing moment of all was when the daughters of the BFR team was recognized by the announcer at this show. One daughter had on a Chevy hat that takes interest after her mother, father and grandpa while the other daughter had on a Ford hat with interests like her grandma, 2 uncles and step-sister. A divided house caught their attention so they came up to interview them. The announcer asked their names and why they each liked Chevy/Ford. And of course, like everybody else, asked if they where twins. They are “Irish twins” at 13 months apart. Every Ford vs Chevy line up was focused on “the BFR Irish Twins” cheering on their favorite brand. Their cute little interview was recorded by the Piedmont Dragway camera crew and posted to social media. What an epic event, including the delicious $9 each cheeseburgers!
The BFR hot rod truck was supposed to attend this event but is currently undergoing an operation on its transmission. It received a brand new built transmission last October but the shifting solenoid unexpectedly went out and burned up some clutches. The transmission guy actually suggested to use the old solenoid on the new transmission. We knew better and have learned this lesson before, always purchase everything new and don’t mess around with reusing used parts when replacing new ones. Luckily, the transmission is under a 3-year, unlimited mile warranty. Special thanks to Trent, our transmission guy at Plowman Transmission, out of Denton for always treating BFR well. He’s a professional on rebuilding Chevy transmissions. All of our personal vehicle transmissions will only be replaced or repaired by this guy. The new 8 and 10 speed Chevy transmissions are complete garbage so we only associate with vehicles from Chevy for the years 2014 and prior. Our personal vehicles have 4 or 6 speed transmissions with a 4L60, 6L80 and 6L90. All are very reliable and the only downside to any of them is the Chinese junk torque convertors that Chevy ignorantly decided to use from the factory. The simple solution is to rebuild and upgrade to a Billet torque converter after the useful life of the transmission is done. The hot rod and work truck have both been upgraded but with the 3rd personal vehicle, Mrs. BFR tuned the transmission herself with HP Tuners before any damage could occur and it shows no signs of letting go at 150k.
A little back story on how we got here. The BFR team was personally invited to this event at the first ever cruise-in we attended in Martinsville, VA by the Drive By Tuesday, Piedmont Dragway promoter and announcer, Elton, who also owns the Snaggletooth Ford truck. Ol’ Elton immediately walked up to the BFR hot rod and said “You know I want to race that truck!”😂 As it turns out, Snaggletooth was not ready to race at this event either. One has to pick on those Ford boys though. They show up to cruise-ins, take over the whole place… we’re talking 20-30, mostly Mustangs, at each event BUT only 1/4 of them will have their hoods open to showcase all that “horsepower” under the hood. 😂 Let’s NEVER forget the grand opening of the Partee Racing Shop that offered dyno testing to anyone. Those Ford boys were nowhere in sight once the dyno opened up. You can’t make this stuff up! People were excited and anticipated to see some numbers and they let their brand down. At the end of the day, supporting American 🇺🇸 brands is all that matters! We support them all… Chevy, Dodge, and Ford. In that order. 😉 The BFR team became brand loyal around 2017 thanks to Whistlin’ Diesel and his famous YouTube channel on vehicle destruction. He put the Chevy 6.0 LS, the 5.4 Triton and the 5.7 Hemi to the test. He literally could not destroy the LS engine. He threw dirt at it, you name it and it would not stop running. The BFR team has had personal experiences that made us believers from an ex putting sugar in the gas tank of the GMC to unintentionally running the Cadillac a few months after purchasing with no oil on the dipstick when it used to have a rear main seal leak. Both engines should have detonated but they didn’t. You can’t kill an LS engine! They will run forever with upgraded lifters and proper maintenance. End of story. The BFR team started out with a beginners 1999 LS truck, then upgraded by trading for a red GMC with a 5.3 LS, upgraded that to a work truck with a 6.0 LS then added a Cadillac with a 6.2 LS and now a hot rod truck with a 6.0 LS (bored to 6.2) to the collection. After all, if you’re American and don’t drive American horsepower, are you really even American? 🇺🇸
Now it’s time to plan visits to Farmington, Rockingham and Mooresville to see what other drag racing classes the hot rod truck is suited for as well as provide small business sponsorship to one lucky drag strip that the BFR team deems deserving. Here’s to a future grudge race between the OnDGas Chevy and the Snaggletooth Ford. 🥂 🏁

Thinking elevates growth so quotes manifest the process. These quotes are beneficial for any small business.
Here’s a summary:
1. Build your own vision, not someone else’s.
2. Stress has no significance in business so always look for the good, the lesson and a new opportunity instead.
3. In business no peace and clarity = problems and chaos. Authenticity = alignment and purpose.
4. Tell a customer the truth even if it’s bad. Value integrity over being liked.
5. Life is a big game of perspective. Don’t compare your business to other businesses.
6. If a customer or competitor bites your business in the back like a snake, don’t waste time on understanding why. Start singing that new cool Koe Wetzel song instead. 🎶 “I don’t need a ticket to your freak show. Knock yourself out and hit a new low. Ima take the high road.”🎶
7. Customers and competitors who treat you wrong make you strong.
8. Every single day your business requires a physical, mental and spiritual win!
9. Your small business matters.
10. Not one single small business has a timeline for success that dictates their worth.
11. A businesses‘ character is what it really is. A businesses‘ reputation is what others think the business is. The character of your business is the most important.
12. Don’t be a dead business walking around sabotaging and manipulating customers. Operate a business with good intentions.
13. No matter how smart or charming a business is, work ethic is the most important due to its nature of being a choice.
Small Business In House Accounting Tips With BFR
Today’s Topic: How to handle excess payments from customers.
This type of situation is rare and unusual. It took a few years for BFR to experience but it’s very important to know how to handle it should the situation arise.
Mistakes happen. This is especially true when handling direct deposits between businesses. There can be that one day that the payroll accountant is out for a certain amount of time for vacation or illness so the business decides to leave the task to another employee who pays their vendors directly by check. This is exactly what happened to BFR, the customer paid immediately by check AND performed the usual direct deposit.
A customer overpayment occurs when a customer pays more than they were billed. As a result, the Cash Receipt account will continue to have a balance after being applied to the original Billing account. This simply means that for the accountant on the receiving end of the overpayment, it is a small inconvenience to the business’s journal entries within the accounting software, such as Quickbooks that is used to maintain financial records.
How does a small business handle this situation?
There are 2 methods to choose from:
1. Keep the customer overpayment.
2. Refund the customer overpayment.
Both methods are time consuming but the first method is much easier. The first method avoids taking on the trouble to refund an overpayment so a ”Credit Memo” document is drawn up with both businesses identifying information that states to the customer the specific amount of credit (AKA the overpayment) they have available with a business vendor. Then the business that received the excess payment completes all future services and repairs with the excess payment until the full excess payment is exhausted. A Credit Note (similar to an Invoice) is created for the customer, as well as an updated Credit Memo, each time a service is provided so both business parties have accurate records. In the Credit Note, always be sure to use parentheses around the total to indicate a “negative” subtraction total and also indicate the remaining credit balance. The number one method should ONLY be used in agreement with the customer. If the customer requests a refund, BY ALL NECESSARY MEANS ISSUE AN IMMEDIATE REFUND. Putting in the extra work for a journal entry is better than loosing a customer. ONLY use method 1 if the ball is left in your businesses court just as this customer did with BFR.
As always, diversification and resilience remain key: Small businesses that build strong relationships with their customers, stay flexible in their sourcing and operations, and proactively manage cash flow will be better equipped to face whatever changes come their way.
Whether in business, profession, craft, or even parenting, the same principle applies. If you refuse to bend, it will eventually break. Strength is found not just in determination but in adaptability. The ones who thrive are those who stay resolute yet flexible. You remain firm and unwavering when it comes to principles, values, and virtues. But when it comes to the methods and ways of doing things, you must be creative, agile, and flexible. 2025 is BFR’s year! Let’s get it!!
